my friends know. my family knows. it is time to put it in writing.
i have, what can best be described as an obssession, with the olympics, and namely, the gymnastics.
twice in my 23 years of life, the olympic gymnastics coverage has resulted in a trip to the emergency room.
1996-the city was atlanta. i was 7 and had illusions of grandeur about my backyard and my monkey bars. lets just say that an overly ambitious attempt to backflip off the monkey bars resulted in a trip to an ER and the diagnosis of concussion/stupidity.
2000-the city was syndney. i was 11 and I’M SORRY but the bathtub in our north carolina beach house was the PERFECT 4inch diameter and it became my personal balance beam. hello 8 stitches and a scar on my left eye that gives my face “character”
and i wonder why my friends flat out refuse to buy me my own balance beam for my birthday.
